City of Miramar Honors Foresters for their Community Efforts
Every day, individuals all over America are contributing a portion of their time and property to enhancing the state of the community we live in. We donate our time to schools, churches, hospitals and other nonprofits in our local areas to bring together a sense of fulfillment and support. Striving on existing as much more than a life insurance provider, First Investor, a Foresters Company has delivered its inspiring support and charitable donations alongside its various partners to fulfill its purpose: To enhance the well-being of families and communities. After a review of Foresters generous contributions, Mayor of the City of Miramar, Lori C. Moseley, has proclaimed June 17th to be Foresters Day.
Through the efforts of charity and volunteerism, Foresters has been able to provide opportunities for youth to develop valuable skills, older Americans to remain healthy by staying active and connected to their community, and adults to share professional and work expertise, all community benefits of volunteerism outlined by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Foresters has chosen several organizations to partner with that share a mutual passion to enhance the community and its families to help to enrich the lives of those who live in it. Foresters strive to help these communities make a difference by investing millions of dollars in these partnerships that allow them to reach their common goals.
Foresters has provided its support to Ronald McDonald House Charities over the past decade with bighearted donations and sponsorships that have helped the international nonprofit organization in its goal to provide stability and vital resources to families with hospitalized children each year. Along with financial support, Foresters has volunteered in organizing more than 500 activities at local Ronald McDonald Charity Houses across North America.
Through its partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Foresters has been able to assist in raising more than half a billion dollars for over 170 local children’s hospitals across North America. Their contributions to the efforts of the Children’s Miracle Network have helped millions of children receive access to quality specialized healthcare. Volunteers have provided their local support to the hospitals by donating care packages to children and their families for over 20 years. As a founding partner of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Cause Innovation Team, Foresters encourages the development of programs that raise funds for children’s hospitals.
Foresters is also partnered with KaBoom!, a national nonprofit that dedicates itself to guaranteeing that all children receive the right balance of active play in order to grow into healthy and successful adults. Foresters has assisted in building more than 100 playgrounds with KaBoom! across the United States and Canada. In building these play areas, 3.2 million children and their families have been given the opportunity to engage in active play and quality family time.
In recognition of Foresters generous efforts toward the community since its creation in 1874, the City of Miramar now recognizes the day of June 17th as Foresters Day. Establishing a “member-based, family-focused and community-spirited” organization has allowed Foresters to expand its efforts throughout the United States, Canada and United Kingdom and the City of Miramar encourages all residents to congratulate Foresters on their success and great contributions to our community.
